What is the Door Supervisor Course?
The Door Supervisor course is a requirement that you have to have if you want to apply for an SIA Licence. An SIA is needed to work in the security industry.
How long does it take?
The course takes four days. Over the days the course will be a mix of lectures and practical sessions. On the Sunday there will be teaching in the morning followed by the assessments.

Don’t worry, this isn’t as scary as it sounds. There are three multiple choice exams covering modules 1,2 and 3. There is also a practical assessment.

How do I Get Licensed?
After your course results will be with you within 14 days. Once it has been confirmed that you have passed your course you can apply for your licence. The licence application is made to the Security Industry Authority who regulate the industry. The cost of the licence is £221.
What work can I do?
The Door Supervisor Licence is the most versatile licence in the industry as it allows you to work in environments where alcohol is consumed as well as where it isn’t. So, as the name suggests you can work as a Door Supervisor but also as a Security Guard in retail environment.
