Unlike a lot of licenses, a <\/b>Personal<\/strong> License<\/b><\/a> has no expiry date. A Personal <\/b>License is valid from the date it was issued and is also portable throughout England and Wales. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In other words, that means that no renewal is required and Personal License holders can continue to authorize alcohol sales indefinitely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, that wasn\u2019t always the case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A personal license once had to renewed<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

There used to be a time when license holders had to renew their Personal Licenses after 10 years and also had to complete additional Personal License retraining. But as a result of the Deregulation Act 2015<\/a>, the Government decided to remove the requirement to renew Personal Licenses and this was implemented on April 1st<\/sup> 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a great advantage for anyone looking or thinking of applying for a Personal License as this means there is no need to pay for additional retraining or renewal of the license.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result, this is a one payment solution that will benefit a potential personal license holder financially in the long term and requires no further financial investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you ever lose your personal license?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Not everything lasts forever, and a personal license can be removed from a license holder in the event of the license being surrendered or forfeited. A license can also be ordered to be forfeited or suspended by a court. During the lifetime of a license the license holder has a duty to notify the Licensing Authority of any change in their name or address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, there you have it, having a Personal License really does last forever. But when a personal license lasts longer than most modern-day relationships, you really have to question our generations commitment issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to get a personal license<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you are interested in applying for a Personal License<\/a>, you will need to pass a APLH training course first. Once you have completed the APLH course, will you then be able to apply for a Personal License<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
