For Hassan, there’s a common misconception that security work is all about confrontation and catching criminals.
While that’s part of it, the reality of his day-to-day is much more focused on community and care. He sees his role as being a friendly, approachable presence for everyone who walks through the doors.

“Working in security is a social job, helping people. It’s not just about stopping shoplifters—we look out for those who are vulnerable and make sure everyone is safe and happy. That’s what I want to do.”
Hassan takes pride in being someone people can turn to when they need assistance, whether they’re lost, feeling unwell, or just need a bit of reassurance. It’s about creating an environment where people feel secure.
That’s the true purpose of what he does, and it’s the reason he chose this career path.
Hassan’s takeaway? A good security officer is a pillar of the community. Focus on protecting the vulnerable and creating a safe, welcoming space for everyone
