It started with a yes

Someone has always kept watch. Watchman, guard, door supervisor, security officer: the name keeps changing, the job never has. What did change is the way in. For most of history you got this work by knowing someone.

Then in August 2007, a man walked into Shahzad Ali's recruitment office and asked: "Do you offer security guard training?" The answer was "yes, we do", and Get Licensed was born.

Shahzad had worked security himself, so he knew what that man was really up against: too many hoops between wanting the work and being allowed to do it. That yes became a mission to build one simple route in. Training near you, then the licence, then work through GuardPass. More than 450,000 people have trained with us since.
