Qualification in Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) is one of 4 first aid qualifications that are classed as a requirement to getting your SIA licence. Passing this course means you're qualified to move towards your SIA licence with confidence.
EFAW is designed for low-risk workplaces, such as offices or smaller retail stores – high-risk places like factories, construction sites and warehouses require security professionals with the more in-depth First Aid at Work qualification
However, the EFAW course is still very comprehensive, giving you the first aid skills you need to stay compliant for your SIA licence – and it only takes a day to complete.
The EFAW course will also introduce you to health and safety regulations that help you to prevent incidents proactively.
You’ll also learn emergency situation management. That lets you know how to communicate with the casualty – as well as advise people around you and report the incident to medical professionals.
EFAW course training takes place in person, in a classroom. Once you get your EFAW qualification, it lasts for 3 years before needing renewal.
The Emergency First Aid at Work Training Course is assessed by the class participation. Your training provider will observe your understanding of the course material. You simply have to pay attention and participate. You will be provided with all the support necessary in order to pass.
