To the officers who
keep us safe

Today is International Security Officers' Day. The work is
quiet. The impact is not.

Security officers are why it feels safe
out there

The night out, the festival, the office lobby, the hospital ward. Wherever people gather, an officer is watching
over them: spotting trouble early, calming it down, stepping in first when something goes wrong.

They prevent

Officers spot trouble before it starts and talk it down before it grows. Most nights end quietly because someone made sure they did.

They respond

When someone collapses or a situation turns, an officer is usually there first: trained in first aid, calm under pressure, holding it together until help arrives.

They protect

The late walk to the car park, the crowd at the gig, the building at 3am. People feel safe in those moments because an officer is on watch.

If you're a security officer,
thank you

Happy International Security Officers' Day. The work you do keeps the rest of us safe, and today the UK says it out loud.

And if you know an officer, a colleague, a friend, the person on the door at work, tell them thanks today. It takes ten seconds and it makes their day.
