What is the childminder and nanny licence?

While technically not a licence, it is a legal requirement to register with Ofsted or with a childminder agency if you want to enter a profession as a childminder or a nanny and get paid to look after children under 8.

How much does registering cost?

How much it will cost you to register as a childminder or a nanny depends on which register you choose to sign. Those looking to register should also note that as well as registering fee, you will also need to pay an annual registration fee to Ofsted.

Payment for criminal record checks and insurance should also be considered. This also includes training costs to enroll in the Paediatric First Aid Level 3 training course.

 

 

What Is the Paediatric First Aid Level 3 Course?

The 1-day Paediatric First Aid Level 3 course leads to the nationally accredited Level 3 Award and follows the guidelines and criteria as laid down by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted. This qualification provides learners with the first aid skills they require to enter into the children’s workforce or work in an environment with children, whether that be as a childminder or as a nanny.

 

NOTE: It is a mandatory requirement that anyone looking to register as a childminder or a nanny has to have completed the Paediatric First Aid Level 3 Course.
